HOLY GRAIL

EVER - PRESENT TRINITY

Your hand seems absent, from
Creation drawn,
As laws with chaos everywhere collide,
And when each day I look, I find no dawn,
No understanding where Your hand abides.
Despite my longing, my hope almost died
Of knowing You Who fashioned us from clay;
And tears from my heart spilled--for You I cried.
A child to heaven's Father each day prayed,
For faintly still in me Your heaven's music played.But then to Bethlehem my eye is cast
To see a Babe in manger laid to rest,
The One through Whom is made Creation vast
Now emptied in His mother's arms a guest.
The Son has come, the object of my quest,
Whose earthly father was by Spirit told
To take His mother, with his love invest;
And so, through Joseph, husband's love enfolds
From Father, Who through them new human family molds.
In family there of three an Icon see
Proclaiming to His world that God is love--
A Father, Son, and Spirit--Trinity.
First Two Who love each other through the Dove,
The Spirit, sent by Father's hand ungloved,
A Virgin's womb has touched through her consent,
Delivered Son from Trinity above
As veil between our earth and heaven rent
To show each family here is Trinity's own hint.
Now male and female He us recreates
To fruitful be and multiply our race.
Each family--parents, child--a likeness makes
Of Him Whose Three-in-One life in each face
Is imaged, cleansed anew by Son's free grace,
Restored to likeness in new families born
Of Trinity, through Son now inter-laced
With Holy Family raised on Easter morn--
See likeness Trinity within each family worn.
